ABOUT INTER THEATRE COMPANY C.I.C. Inter Theatre Company is a not for profit company providing drama, music, vocal and movement sessions every week and performance opportunities in theatres and performance spaces across the county. We work inclusively with people with and without physical and learning disabilities and are user lead. We have been lucky enough to perform for royalty and be part of the BAFTA winning film Marvellous, shown on BBC TV. In the past we have worked with local schools, colleges and care homes and collaborated in the community with the Lions, MAC Club, and P.H.A.B to name but a few. Our stages have included Ford Green Hall, The Victoria Hall, The Regent Theatre, Lichfield Garrick, The Brewhouse Arts Centre, Lichfield Cathedral and a big top tent. HUMANUS - THE STORY Ghost meets Keystone Kops meets Dawn of the Dead meets Evil Dead: The Musical. We began working on a series of horror and sci fi related short stories early in 2017. Some of these were self created and some were based on specific genres and films. All of them were written by our members. As we developed and improvised these tales, we also drew them together into a bigger narrative. When her lover goes missing on his way back from work, Mollie goes straight to the police, and then to a psychic. Follow the incompetent officers of the law as they bumble through blood and guts, flying heads and demon barbers, whilst the clairvoyant Madame Belle struggles to bridge a romantic journey across the divide of life and death. Romance, Comedy, Zombies, Song – RomComZomSong – a new genre is born. Humanus is a unique motion picture created by a unique production company, Back2Front Films. It is inclusively written by, filmed by and features people with learning and physical disabilities.
We are very lucky to have been joined by some special guest actors, including Neil Nello Baldwin (from Marvellous) Lou Macari (ex Stoke City manager) and Nicholas Gleaves (from Coronation Street / Scott & Bailey / Spiderman) UNIQUE This project is unique in that it is made by and stars people with disabilities. It will, of course, raise the profile of both the participants and area itself through accompanying publicity. We already have American Film Company Reality Entertainment on board, and with their links into the major end of the film industry we anticipate that Humanus will therefore be high profile, both regionally and nationally and thus bring a lot of benefit to the people of the area through united accomplishment and sense of pride. ![]() |
